Like many of you here I guess I'm just not satisfied unless I'm doing the starving artist bit.  Well, I'm not so sure about the starving part but the two sure as hell seem to go hand in hand.

Anyway I thought I'd take up painting (with Corel Painter mind you.  I've used the application for years for a little fill here or touch up there but never used it extensively.)

Though I've completed a few paintings I have shown a very few people. Today however, I finally completed one that I felt I could show the world.

The Damn thing took me 5 days, which testifies to my ineptness and my passion for Ctrl+Z which I spend more time pressing that I do painting but hey, it's the modern world and the computer age right?

Anyway, the bulk of the paintings I've done so far are simply of photos that I like and or admire.  Then I get it into my head that they will convert well to watercolor.  As a result the work is not really mine but just me playing around and more practice.  Becouse of that I can't in good faith post them on DA or anywhere really but if you would like to see one please have a look at the URL below.

Yep, there are lots of things wrong with it but I'm getting there slowly but surly.  Even so I am proud of something I have created for the first time in a very long time.  Now just to do one of my own work!  If ~rockroll would ever get her ass here perhaps I could make my first original of her! {Yes Sarah, I'm talking to you! :) }

Anyway, y'all have a great day and a Happy New Year,

Barry

I have never used Corel Draw in my life but I do use Painter and sketch pad. Both save and open .psd files but neither till work with 16bit, vectors or layer styles. Corel Draw on the other hand does.

Also the new version 5 will open and work with paths from an eps file without rasterizing it like the older versions. Well it will so long as it was saved in Version CS5 before hand.

Perhaps it will work, Perhaps not, I can't really say.
